Welcome Home

On January 7, 2010, Jason Sentner, Jay Miller, Eric Harshman, and Paul Wooster welcomed 60 people from the community to celebrate their life long dream of living in their own homes. With the snow flying outside, the four residents welcomed their guests and treated them to a tour of their home and provided with light refreshments.  UCP/CLASS broke ground in early August and it was a great experience to see the site transformed from shovel marks in the ground to two beautiful homes. The four future residents were an integral part of the building process choosing everything from the countertops to the wall colors.

KDKA Television arrived to gather stories and interviewed several people about the homes, our organization, and the new home owners. Jason Sentner was interviewed and shared his feelings of excitement about moving into his new home. Others interviewed were Al Condeluci, Darla Lynn, and board foundation president Rob Oliver. To view the story that KDKA wrote or to watch the broadcast of the story, visit the link to their site here.

It was a lovely afternoon. Since the open house, the four gentlemen have moved into their houses. Jason, Jay, Eric, and Paul along with the Residential Support Team would like to thank all that have made their dreams a reality. A few to mention would be Steve Chupinka from K & S Real Estate, Inc., Ron Ruppen, Courtney Walker, Beth Dotson and their support staff. Thanks to others that have made a difference in this project. Dreams can come true with the help of others!

This is not the first accessible home that UCP/CLASS has helped design and build. The first home was completed in 2007. For more information on the first smart home, view the story here.
