UCP Kids 3rd Annual Movie Night Rescheduled

UCP Kids has annonced the new date for the 3rd Annual Movie Night.  The event will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010.

Join us in watching the feature film The Sandwich Kid: A Film About Siblings and Disabilities!

Siblings of children with disabilities share unique concerns -- both positive and negative -- that are important for parents and professionals to recognize.  Because bonds between siblings have the potential to last longer than any other relationship in one's lifetime, it is important for families and professionals alike to understand the complex needs of a sibling.  Having a brother or sister with a disability is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good thing, and for many somewhere in between.  But one thing is certain -- siblings of individuals with disabilities make invaluable contributions and provide unique perspectives, when given the chance.  Keri Bowers and Jace King's The Sandwich Kid seeks to give a voice to those who are impacted by day-to-day living with a sibling who has a disability.  The Sandwich Kid is a touching, straightforward film that focuses on the challenges and triumphs siblings experience, with dozens of candid sibling interviews.
