Christmas is around the Corner

With Christmas right around corner, I can’t help but to get excited about the upcoming Christmas party that my house throws. Although my roommates and I haven’t decorated yet, this weekend we plan on putting up the Christmas tree. Our Christmas tree is small and it lights up. One really cool aspect about our tree is that it rotates—allowing everyone to see all of the ornaments hung up.
Once the house is completely decorated, a grab-bag is held. Grab-bag is when people at a party draw a gift without knowing what it is. I think it’s great that my house does grab-bag because it offers people who do not get out much the opportunity to do something fun with other people.
The Christmas party at my house reminds me of the Christmas’ I use to spend at my Grandfather’s house. Christmas at my grandfather’s house was amazing. At his Christmas parties, my grandfather use to play the organ and I would sing to Christmas songs that he played. My favorite song to sing to was Silent Night.
Although I love the festive holiday of Christmas, I also realize that it’s one of the toughest times of the year because I don’t always get to see my family and friends.
