It is important to remember that the Consumer Employer is the employer on record for the Direct Care Worker, not UCP/CLASS. UCP/CLASS is the fiscal agent manager, which means UCP/CLASS acts as the agent or financial representative for the consumer to help them manage their allotted hours in their Individual Service Plan (ISP).
One way that UCP/CLASS helps the Consumer Employer manage their ISP is to process payroll for the Direct Care Workers they have hired.
Direct Care Workers complete weekly timesheets that the Consumer Employer will have to review and approve. The Direct Care Worker will send the approved timesheets to UCP/CLASS and their payroll will be processed.
Each year the Consumer Employer is given a predetermined time sheet due date and pay date schedule. Direct Care Workers should consult their employers first if they have a question regarding timesheets and pay dates. The Consumer Employer may contact their assigned Resource Coordinator if they need additional assistance.
