After electing to be a Consumer Employer, your assigned Resource Coordinator will apply for required federal and state employer tax identification numbers on your behalf. These numbers authorize you to act as an approved employer.
UCP/CLASS will complete and file quarterly and annual employer tax reports for the Consumer Employer. As an employer, the consumer must report income paid to Direct Care Workers. The federal and state tax filings as an employer are not the same as your individual tax returns. Your Resource Coordinator will answer any questions you might have about tax reporting.
