When a new consumer enrolls with the UCP/CLASS Consumer Employer Resource Department through Attendant Care Services Program, the new Consumer Employer will be assigned a Resource Coordinator. The Resource Coordinator will immediately visit the Consumer in their home to provide an explanation and orientation as to how Participant-Directed Services work. The Resource Coordinator is available to answer your questions and guide you through the employment management process. The Resource Coordinator and the Service Coordinator work hand in hand to provide the Consumer with all the information and resources they may need to manage their Individual Service Plan.
UCP/CLASS will assist the consumer in advertising for Direct Care Workers and help perform background checks and child abuse clearance checks on prospective employees. After the Consumer Employer decides who they will hire, UCP/CLASS helps the Consumer Employer with the initial new hire paperwork and orientation. Some of the initial paperwork can be found in our Consumer Forms and Other Resources.
UCP/CLASS offers various trainings for the Consumer Employer and the Direct Care Worker. Some of the trainings offered are Universal Precautions, Preventing Slips and Falls, and Mechanics of Lifting and Transferring.
