Community Partner

Mindy has been a Community Partner with UCP Kids since 2006. Originally from Cumberland, MD, Mindy attended Frostburg State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish. While in Maryland, Mindy worked in a variety of roles with adults with various physical and mental disabilities. In her role as a Community Development Specialist, she assisted in planning community outings and activities and acted as a job coach at the various jobs her clients held in the community. Additionally, Mindy worked in the evenings and on weekends assisting a young man in selecting and planning community activities. Residing in Pittsburgh since 2003, Mindy greatly enjoys identifying opportunities to incorporate individuals with disabilities into the community and has always enjoyed working with children.

She is passionate about person-first language and UCP/CLASS' mission of “working toward a community where each belongs.” Mindy enjoys music, reading and spending time with her husband Michael and their daughter, Adrienne.
