Community Partner

Jeffrey Fromknecht, MSW

Jeffrey is a UCP Kids Community Partner. In this role, he connects with those in the community who utilize UCP Kids’ services to evaluate the effectiveness of UCP Kids programs. Jeff also assists with the development of new UCP Kids programs and writes the Focus on Health column for the UCP Kids eNewsletter. Additionally, Jeff is a part of the UCP Social Capital Workgroup and the UCP Staff Training Committee, where he researches the impact of social capital on people’s lives and ways to educate people about its impact. Jeff has developed several presentations and has co-authored two published articles – The Critical Nature of Social Capital and Social Capital: A View from the Field. Jeff is also active with several community groups, including the Advancing Oral Health Advisory Committee and the Consumer Health Coalition.

Jeff has an eclectic blend of work and educational experiences, working with children and the elderly, in both direct support and administrative roles. He studied psychology and biology at Allegheny College, earning a Bachelors of Science degree.

Originally from Erie, PA, he moved to Pittsburgh in 2007 to study community organizing, social work, and public health at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work and School of Public Health, where he earned a Master of Social Work degree. Jeff currently lives in Highland Park and is an evening student at the Duquesne University School of Law. He enjoys hanging out with friends, bike riding, sports and volunteering in his spare time.
