The Alliance for Community Respite Care, previously the Allegheny County Respite Care Alliance, merged with UCP/CLASS in March of 2010. This new partnership will allow for UCP/CLASS to offer even more individualized services to the people we support.

The Alliance for Community Respite Care of UCP/CLASS or ACRC was formed in 1997 as a collaborative network of families, providers, and stakeholders dedicated to educating the community about the need for respite care. It is the mission of ACRC to provide support and relief through access to respite care for caregivers and children and adults of all ages with special needs.

The ACRC is a valuable resource to the respite community. ACRC is committed to helping families access quality respite care. Respite refers to short-term, temporary care. It is typically provided for people with special needs so that caregivers, family members, foster parents, or friends can take a break from the daily routine of care giving.
