Regional Housing Coordinator Program

Regional Housing Coordinators serve as a regional advocate for issues relating to fair housing and other housing statutes and regulations. Regional Housing Coordinators provide a point of contact for information, referral, and technical assistance related to housing and services for waiver eligible participants in the region.

While working with housing professionals, different organizations, and state agencies, the Regional Housing Coordinators creates a wealth of resources including housing options and opportunities for people with disabilities. Coordinators also educate service providers of the different options available in their region.

The goal of the Coordinator is to build relationships between people with disabilities and the groups or agencies in their region that serve as resources or providers of housing options. To fulfill this goal, Coordinators conduct presentations and trainings to groups and organizations about the housing needs and resources available to people with disabilities. These topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Affordable, Accessible Housing
  • Home Modifications
  • Local Housing Options Team (LOHT)
  • PA Apartment Locator (PAL)
  • Home and Community Based Services (HSBC)
  • Effective marketing strategies targeting persons with disabilities
  • Subsidized/affordable housing systems
